Questions About CBD

FAQ ABOUT CBD

What is CBD (Cannabidiol)?

Cannabidiol is the focus of many medical studies for a variety of potential benefits. It is commonly abbreviated to CBD, and is one of the many helpful compounds present in the hemp plant. These active compounds are referred to as cannabinoids. CBD is the most dominant cannabinoid in hemp, constituting up to 20% of hemp plants by weight. Unlike THC, it is non-intoxicating.

Is CBD Legal?

Yes it is. CBD is extracted from federally legal industrial hemp plants, which means you are allowed to have it anywhere in the USA. Both the FAA and USPS, as well as other major shipping carriers, allow for the transportation of CBD.

You do not require a license or doctor’s note to purchase CBD.

Will CBD Get Me High?

CBD is an active cannabinoid derived from hemp, but it is not intoxicating, meaning it will not get you “high” or inhibit you in any way, shape, or form.

Full Spectrum CBD products can have up to 0.3% THC by weight and may exhibit mild intoxicating effects. If you want to avoid this, or may be subject to drug testing, look for CBD products that are guaranteed THC-Free.

Will CBD make me fail a drug test?

Although it is extremely unlikely that you fail a drug test when using guaranteed THC-free CBD products, there is still a small risk.

Due to the varying nature of different drug tests and individual employer standards, this response should not be taken as legal advise – please consult your employer policy on hemp products for a concrete answer.

What is CBD used for?

In 2018, Epidiolex was approved by The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) as the first cannabinoid-derived medication. The FDA does not allow vendors to make medical claims regarding the benefits of CBD products beyond recommending them for general well-being.

If you are suffering from a disease or illness, or believe you are suffering from a disease or illness, it is best to consult your healthcare provider.

If you are interested in reviewing the studies performed on the benefits of CBD so far, you can search PubMed, the US Government repository of medical research.

What's the difference between hemp seed oil and CBD extract?

Less reputable companies sell hemp seed oil claiming that it is CBD oil, so it’s important to know the difference.

Hemp seed oil is made by pressing raw hemp seeds and collecting the liquid oil that is expelled. It is a good supplement and cooking additive. It does not have concentrated cannabinoids or terpenes.

CBD extract is made by extracting the hemp flower. This concentrates the active cannabinoids and terpenes to very high percentages, resulting in a thick, resinous distillate used to create CBD products.

What's the difference between hemp and marijuana?

When people think of marijuana, they think of the classic Cannabis sativa plant. What many don’t know is that marijuana can be of the indica and ruderalis varieties as well. Comparatively, hemp is only the Cannabis sativa plant.

While they are the same plant, there are distinct genetic differences between the two. Marijuana plants are generally bred to have very high amounts of THC at the expense of other cannabinoids including CBD. Hemp is the inverse, containing large amounts of CBD and little to no THC. This means that hemp is an ideal plant for those seeking cannabis benefits without the intoxicating experience.

Medicinal hemp and marijuana plants are usually bushy with large amounts of flowers, whereas industrial hemp plants are taller and thinner with pronounced stalks and little to no flowers. Industrial hemp has a myriad uses including as a component of clothing, paper, rope, plastics, oils, and foods.

Legally, the two plants are separately defined by the Agricultural Appropriations Act of 2014, which establishes “Industrial Hemp” as a cannabis sativa plant with a THC concentration below 0.3 percent by weight.

How much CBD should I take?

Everybody responds differently to CBD so the best approach is to try it out and titrate to find out what works best. Titrating is the concept of starting with a small dose and trying progressively larger doses until the desired outcome is reached.

For most people, a daily dose between 20 and 50mg of CBD is most beneficial.

As always, consult your healthcare provider for medical advice.

If you have an idea for the packaging you want to see, feel free to share it with us and we’ll confirm whether the supplier is GMP-compliant.

Can I order product in bulk?

We can custom-quote individual products as well as bulk jugs. Please note that bulk packaging is still subject to the same testing requirements as finished products.

What are your payment terms?

Most orders require payment in full to begin production. For larger recurring orders, we occassionally offer extended payment terms. Please consult with your account manager for details on what is available to you.

Do you offer private label or white label?

Through our partner network, we have both white label and private label programs available.

White label is a program wherein CBD products are already bottled, and are ready to ship. There’s no customization here outside of your own label, but turnaround times are fastest.

Private label is a program where every product is made from scratch. It has higher minimums and lead times than white label CBD, but allows full customization of everything from ingredients to packaging.
