Hemp Industries Association Member | Beyond BotanicalsThe Hemp Industries Association

This week, we became members of the Hemp Industries Association, joining over 600 Association members around the world. The HIA was founded in 1994 to educate people about hemp, develop the hemp industry, and accelerate market growth for hemp products. It is a non-profit trade association with members ranging from manufacturers and investors to farmers and researchers. In addition, the HIA also has local chapters in eight states, with more on the way. Thus far in 2017, the Association has participated in 22 events across the country. These events represent hemp businesses and educate community members new to the wonders of hemp. They host an annual members summit in September of every year. We will be attending the 2018 Summit to meet more of our peers in the industry.

A Commitment to Education

Are you interested in learning more about the current goings-on of the hemp industry? The Association is shining resource for information on hemp history as well as hemp-related legislation. Their history library is a great starting point for American hemp education, as it dates back to the late 1700s. Recently, the Association has been a strong advocate for the Vote Hemp movement. This group campaigns to legalize industrial hemp farming in all 50 states. Our home state of Connecticut has a bill in the Senate proposing to allow industrial hemp cultivation, which is something we strongly support and will also continue to advocate more.

Hemp Industries Association members commit to grassroots advocacy, including the annual Hemp History Week. One of our core values at Beyond Botanicals is education. Consequently, we believe it is paramount to contribute to the HIA’s efforts in hemp advocacy. Most of all, we look forward to the opportunity to represent hemp education and the other members of the Hemp Industries Association at future events nationally. In the future, we will continue to share opportunities for you to take action with the HIA and support the American hemp industry.
